SEGA Dreamcast VMU (Virtual Memory Unit)

"More than a memory card."

Here's my recreation of the SEGA Dreamcast Virtual Memory Unit (VMU). I've always been interested in it as it was such a unique piece of tech in a pile of weird and wonderful accessories made by SEGA. When creating the 3D model of the VMU, I started it three times. The first attempt got the basic shape down, however some proportions and edges were not reflective of the original plastic case, so I started from scratch, however my second attempt only lasted up till the basic form of the shape, as there were some bevels I wanted to add but wasn't able too. The third and final attempt went much better, with the ability to capture majority of details found in the actual unit.

For the screen, I sourced a screenshot of Chao Adventure, which was the bonus VMU game apart of Sonic Adventure (1998), and tried to emulate the colour of a monochrome screen. (Calculator, Gameboy, etc.)

Overall I'm pretty happy with the outcome.
